Former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was on Saturday, honoured with an award of Sterling Performance in Public Service by the Ijesa Elite Society Club.

Ijesa Elite Society Club is a society representing Ijesa sons and daughters worldwide renowned for its developmental visions for the good people of Ijesa land.

Aregbesola was given the award during the 60th anniversary of the club.

The former two-term governor of Osun State, according to a statement by the Publicity and Organising Secretary,
Omoluabi Progressives, Abosede Oluwaseun, was honoured alongside other illustrious sons of the soil.

Represented by Barr Gbenga Jimoh Akano, Aregbesola was honoured for the developmental strides it brought to Osun State and Ijesaland, during his time as governor.

Other notable awardees include former ACN/APC Chairman in Osun State, Rev. Adelowo Adebiyi,, and the chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Issa Azeez Adesiji.

Alhaji Azeez was decorated with an Award for sterling performance in Public Service in recognition of his lofty track record when he was the Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government.
Reverend Adebiyi, was honoured with an award of Excellence in Professional Service

“While congratulating the trio in separate statements, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and Rt. Hon. Najeem Iwaloye Salaam urged the Progressives family in the State to emulate the awardee’s sterling leadership style, as well as exhibit more Omoluabi ethos that will positively impact the lives of all and sundry,” the statement added.
