APC Berates PDP Over Rice Distribution To Members In Osun

By Nofisat Adeoye

The All Progressives Congress, APC,in the State of Osun has berated the Sen. Iyiola Omisore-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for distributing rice to its members ahead the upcoming Christmas.

The PDP had on Thursday distributed some bags of rice to its members at its factional secretariat in Osogbo, the State capital.

The APC, through a release signed by its spokesperson, Mr Kunle Oyatomi, tagged the rice distribution as a “shameless strategy that cannot make a politician win a governorship election” and as an insult to the people of the state.

“The food-for-vote strategy, which the PDP had been applying for over a decade didn’t work in the past and will fail again in 2018. For the PDP to pretend that rice gift can also unite the fractious party is delusional.”

“However, the people of Osun know what the PDP is worth in governance and such naive gesture will infuriate the majority of them and backfire on the party’s face rather than giving it any chance whatsoever in taking over from the APC come 2018.” the party added.
