Bearing the last minute permutation in mind, the younger brother to the late Senator Adeleke, Dr Ademola Adeleke, who is an aspirant for the Osun West Senatorial by-election on the platform of the All Progressives might have jump gun by defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party.
A serious permutation is ongoing as many feel younger Adeleke may not get APC’s ticket and therefore require another platform to contest for the election.
He was at APC Ogo-Oluwa secretariat, Osogbo on Wednesday to notify the party of his intention to resign from the party.
The letter read, “I am constrained to take decision due to the obvious manipulation and interference by political godfathers and power brokers that created the cloudy and controversial circumstances that led to the mysterious re-qualification of a candidate that was disqualified at two level of the party’s screening process.
However, his opponent in the contest, Senator Mudasir Husein who was initially disqualified by the screening panel but later confirmed by the NWC of the party may have easy ride as it is believe that the party in the state and bulk of the delegates are queuing behind him.
Adeleke was to contest the APC primaries with Senator Mudasiru Hussein tomorrow.
It was learnt that some of his supporters within the APC were instrumental to Adeleke’s defection.
Sources within the PDP disclosed that some APC leaders who are loyal to late Isiaka Adeleke had been having meeting with chairman of the party, Hon Soji Adagunodo and others PDP leaders since the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, some of his supporters in his country home are not well disposed to the new arrangement
