Adeleke Approves Payment Of Terminal Benefits For Deceased Pensioners

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has approved payment of terminal benefits for deceased pensioners of Primary school teachers and Local Government Staff in the state.

In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Akibu Ibrahim, a copy made available to Osun Defender on Monday in Osogbo, called on relatives of the deceased to visit the Local Government Staff Pension Bureau Office to check their names for payment.

The statement said Adeleke takes the welfare of Osun people serious, adding that the Governor will continue paying the inherited debt, as well as offsetting the backlog of workers’ salaries and pensions owes to retirees in the state.

Part of the statement read, “This is to inform the general public that the Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has approved almost Four hundred million naira to 670 deceased who were retirees under the old pension scheme, that are Local Government Staff and Primary school teachers.

“Sequel to this, the affected deceased relatives are to visit the Local Government Staff Pension Bureau for proper documentation and payment.”
