Abiodun, Amosun, Osoba, Ooni Meet At Olowu of Owu 14th Coronation

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Saturday met his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Abiodun also met former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ayeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.

The dignitaries met at the coronation of the 14th Olowu of Owu Abeokuta, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola.

It was gathered that this is the first time Abiodun and Amosun would meet after the two friends-turned-foes renewed their rivalry ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Ogun.

Amosun had said he would oppose Abiodun’s second term ambition the same way he did in 2019.

But, Abiodun fired back at Amosun, saying he did not have the strength to stop his reelection when he could not do same in his first attempt.

Our correspondent reports that when the two politicians met on Saturday, they greeted each other, even as Abiodun recognized him amidst cheers from the crowd while delivering his speech.
