Members of the 6th Abia House of Assembly have affirmed that they are satisfied with the leadership style of their speaker, Chikwendu Kalu, saying they will not impeach him.
It could be recalled that Kalu is the third speaker of the 6th Assembly, following the impeachment and resignation of two others before him.
The vote of confidence on the speaker came after weeks of speculations making the round in the state of impending plans by some members to remove him to pave way for the son of the immediate past governor of the state, Eyinnaya Orji, to emerge as speaker.
In a press release signed by the chairman, House Committee on Media and Publicity, Cosmos Ndukwe, the members said they were not unmindful of the speaker’s robust approach to developmental legislations and critical approach that holds a promise of a better life for all Abians.
