Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Mudasiru Toogun has charged the Libyan returnees who are indigenes of Osun to see their return as an opportunity to renew their strength and energy towards the development of their fatherland.

Toogun made this remark while addressing the returnees at the Heritage Hotel, Osogbo where they were lodged after the State of Osun Emergency Agency (OSEMA) had brought them from Rivers State in the early hours of Saturday.

He congratulated the nine returnees with a five months old baby on their safe return despite the inhuman treatment against them in Libya.

He said the report and visuals on social media revealed how fellow Africans are maimed, battered and killed by other Africans in their land.

The Commissioner said Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is passionate about the welfare of the citizenry both at home and in diaspora hence the reason why he ordered OSEMA to bring Osun indigenes back home.

He then assured them that the greener pastures they were looking for in the hostile country would be available to them in their State with the enabling socio-economic environment that has been provided by Ogbeni Aregbesola’s administration, charging them to avail themselves with the golden opportunities that abound in the State.

In their response, the returnees who comprised of eight females and a young man with five months baby thanked the state government for the welfare package provided for them and especially for turning around the state in all ways.

Meanwhile, another set of Libya returnees are expected before the end of the month.
