The Borno Police Command has confirmed three bombers lost their lives in multiple bombing explosions in Maiduguri on Friday.
The Commissioner of Police Borno state, Mr. Damian Chuckwu stated this while addressing newsmen at the scene of the blasts in Maiduguri, adding that no record of civilian casualties except the bombers.
“We are lucky, today would have been another sad day for us in Maiduguri, at 03hrs, two female bombers and a male bomber attacked petroleum tankers parked near a filling station along Damboa road Maiduguri.
“Two bombers detonated while the third was gun down by a soldier. As a result of an explosion, three petrol tankers were also burnt including two petrol loaded truck while the third was an empty truck.”
Meanwhile, the fire fighters has done a good Job by bringing the fire under control while causality evacuation has been concluded.” Mr. Chuchwu said.
