An Osogbo Magistrate Court has sentenced a 20-year-old man, Monday Jonah, to six months imprisonment for stealing property worth a sum of N615,000 in Osogbo.
Jonah was convicted by the court after pleading guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing levelled against him on Wednesday.
The convict was said to have stolen a 12kg gas cylinder, gerrard roofing sheets, generator battery, Moa machine, pressure pump, chandelier light, electronic light and slim pump, all totaling N615,000 from the shop of his boss, Abolore Oladeji.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, the convict and others at large committed the offence in the month of April, 2022 at Halleluyah Estate, Osogbo.
The offence, according to the police, contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34. Vol. II, Laws of Osun, 2002.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment at Ilesa Correctional Centre by the presiding Magistrate, Adekanmi Adeyeba with an option of N20,000 fine.
