Two women whose names could not be ascertained were seriously injured, during an accident involving three vehicles, including a Hilux Van belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) at Ogo-Oluwa Area, Osogbo, State of Osun on Wednesday.

Other vehicles involved in the accident were a Toyota Corolla Sport Car and a mini-bus popularly known as Korope.

An eye witness recounted that the Corolla Sport Car was in the front and followed by the mini-bus, both heading to Ola-Iya junction, while the IBEDC van which was on a high speed from behind hit the mini-bus, which subsequently somersaulted.

He said, it was after the mini-bus had somersaulted and damaged that the van moved to hit the corolla sport from behind again.

The witness said, a female passer-by was one of those injured in the accident and rushed to the an unknown hospital for treatment by FRSC officials.

According to the witness, the IBEDC van oversped and that was the basis of the accident, saying that had the driver of the van drove carefully, the damage would have been minimal.

The driver of the mini-bus, Yusuff Mutiu said himself and other two occupants, a woman and an Immigration Officer were in the vehicle when the incident occurred.

The driver of the van, who mentioned his name as Buhari denied overspeeding, saying that as at the time of the incident, there was heavy traffic and he could not have oversped in such situation.

Meanwhile, at the scene of the accident, some youths were heard encouraging the mini-bus driver not to allow the repair of his vehicle, but a replacement, claiming that the company should be able to take out of electricity bill to replace the vehicle.

One of them said: “They have been swindling us with electricity bill and this is the time for them to pay back. The driver knew the company has the capacity to replace the vehicle and that is why he over sped to hit the vehicles of others”.
