17 Die In Zamfara School Fire

A devastating fire at an Almajiri school in Kauran Namoda, Zamfara State, has claimed the lives of at least 17 pupils.
The fire broke out on Tuesday night and raged for nearly three hours before it was brought under control.
As the flames spread rapidly across the school, panic ensued among the pupils, many of whom were trapped inside.

In addition to the fatalities, several others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at local hospitals.
Eyewitnesses described the fire as catastrophic, with Zagazola Makama, confirming on X, “Eyewitnesses described the fire as devastating, noting that efforts to contain it were hampered by its intensity.”
Local authorities and emergency responders arrived at the scene after the fire had already caused significant casualties.
The Zamfara State Police spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident, stating he would seek further details from the DPO.
