16 Suspects Docked For Murder In Ondo

SIXTEEN persons have been docked before an Akure Chief Magistrate Court, in Ondo State over the murder of the United States of America, USA-based business man, Banji Adafi, who was killed in his Nigerian home.

The suspects were arraigned before the court for armed robbery and murder. But a twist was introduced to the matter when the Police Prosecutor, Martins Olowofeso asked the Court to release five of the suspects for fresh investigation following new findings by them.

The Prosecutor said a sequel to the petition from the family of the victim, Banji Adafi , alleging foul play in his death they requested for further investigation and the Police would want the case to be reinvestigated. The lawyer from the office of the DPP,

The lawyer from the office of the DPP, Mr. A Bamisile, opposed the application on the premise that the Police ought to have come with the written application instead of the oral application moved by the prosecutor.

However, pleas of the accused persons were not taken as the court ordered the case file to be duplicated and sent to Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
