We Need Water

Many thanks for giving me the opportunity to express my views in your widely-read tabloid on the abysmal performance of Osun State Water Corporation in the area of water provision to all nooks and crannies of the state.
The state government agency has almost become a law unto itself, as it only provides water to a negligible percentage of the populace in the State of the Virtuous.
An example is the city of Osogbo, the state capital, where water has, in recent time, become a scarce commodity, inspite of being in the rainy season. The parastatals has, in the last eight years, become a shadow of what it used to be in the era of Chief Bisi Akande, as many taps have suddenly become dry in view of the monumental mismanagement of its resources by the immediate-past PDP administration in the state.
However, one would have expected a change of attitude by the management of the corporation as a result of the change of baton in the administration in the state.
Inspite of the promises made by the current administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in its resolve to make life more meaningful to the ordinary man on the street, some disgruntled individuals of PDP extraction are still bent on frustrating the good intention of the governor through sabotage.
I stand to be corrected, should contrary be proved upon investigation. Or what could have been responsible for scarcity of pipe-borne water in a state where a government is reputed to have surpassed its predecessors in all areas of governance.
I therefore want to use this medium to appeal to all relevant agencies to prevail on Osun State Water Corporation to rise up to the challenge of providing good drinking water for the state residents and stop sabotaging the good plans of the current people’s government in the State of the Virtuous.
