WARIF Commissions First Ever Special And Sexual Offenses Court

WARIF is the acronym for Women At Risk International Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization that supports survivors of rape and sexual violence by offering free medical aid, legal aid, counseling and access to shelters.

The foundation has tirelessly raised a voice for the girl child and shown disgust in every way to sexual abuse and violence. on a mission to end rape brutality, the foundation commissioned the first ever special and sexual offences in Lagos state on the 2nd of February (Friday).

They took to their instagram page to commemorate the great achievement.

“Today was a great step forward in the fight against sexual violence with the commissioning of the first ever Special and Sexual Offences Courts in Lagos State. Present at the ceremony were Representatives of Lagos State; the Deputy Governor, Dr (Mrs) Oluranti Adebule; wife of the Governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode; Special guest of honour, the wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo; Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke; Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, Hon. Funmi Tejuosho and Founder of WARIF, Dr Kemi Dasilva Ibru as well as other dignitaries”.

It is believed that with this, perpetrators of sexual violence acts will receive due verdicts.
