Untold Story Of Kingibe’s Connection In Osun Tribunals’ Compromise – Investigation

OSUN State politics and its sting seem to have assumed a venomous dimension, as fresh facts about the compromise of Justice Hamman Barka-led second election petitions tribunal that sat in Osogbo, the state capital, have emerged.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the sacked recently Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe was fingered in the last-minute compromise of the electoral dispute panel.

It was also unveiled that one of the senators from the state, who has a long political relationship with Kingibe pulled the strings that eventually intimidated the brilliant panel to cavein for the wish of the embattled ruling party.

According to an investigation conducted by OSUN DEFENDER, the Barka tribunal had weighed all the evidence presented by the three senatorial candidates of the state Action Congress (AC), who happened to be the petitioners and had determined to do justice according to the evidence.

Feelers from the tribunal disclosed that the judgment written and already type-set for delivery was allegedly turned to the dissenting judgment overnight, according to him, in order to save their (judges) career.

It was learnt that the obviously rattled senators had already run from pillar to post, in search of rescue from the looming verdict before one of them, who is close to the former Federal Government scribe sought an intervention of his political leader (Kingibe).

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Kingibe then invited the rattled senators to Abuja for a nocturnal meeting in the State House, where he offered to help them at the tribunal on the condition that, they would support his presidential bid.

It was learnt that Kingibe had fixed so many tribunal cases for his political loyalists all over the country, but that of Osun proved to be a nightmare that could not allow him a good sleep, as his interference was reverberating in the presidency; when TheNEWS magazine published the secret conversations between the first tribunal judges and a respondent lawyer, Mr Kunle Kalejaiye (SAN).

It was reliably revealed to OSUN DEFENDER that the Kingibe interference in Osun State and some other states with a condition of his presidential aspiration, burst up his disloyalty to the ailing President Umar Yar’adua and which eventually culminated into his sudden removal from office.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the hawks from Osun State had started pushing for Kingibe’s intervention at the Court of Appeal, so as to maintain a status quo till 2011, when according to them, the political structure would be made available for his presidential ambition on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
