Uganda Cranes Arrive Lagos, Hit Asaba Today Ahead Eagles Clash

Players and officials Uganda Cranes arrived in Lagos early Monday morning, and will depart this afternoon for Asaba, Delta State ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria billed for the Stephen Keshi International Stadium.

The Uganda Cranes’ players and their officials, CSN gathered, arrived Lagos at about 7am Monday morning.

Both teams booked their place in in the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations tournament in Cameroon last Saturday.

The Super Eagles sealed their qualification for the AFCON 2019 on Saturday with a 1-1 away draw with South Africa in Johannesburg.

Nigeria lead Group E with 10 points from five games, while the Uganda Cranes also booked a place in the group stages of the competition with a 1-0 home win over Cape Verde at Namboole Stadium on Saturday in a Group L clash.

The three-time African champions are making a return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing out on two occasions just as the Uganda Cranes secured their qualification to for the first time in 40 years.

Uganda Cranes lead Group L with 13 points, way ahead of second-placed Lesotho who have five points just like Tanzania, but with a superior goal difference, while Cape Verde have four points.
