Two Vigilantes Remanded In Prison For Attempted Murder

Osun State Magistrate court, Osogbo has remanded two vigilantes for alleged murder of a man identify as Muritala Akinsoji.
 
The duo; Ogunwole Tunde and Agboola Ogundare were alleged on a three count charge for felony, attempted murder and unlawfully possession of firearms.
 
The prosecutor, Mr. Duro Adekunle alleged the duo and others at large for conspiracy to commit felony to wit: attempted murder and unlawfully possession of firearms on September 5th,  2017 at Oke-Ola in Osogbo.
 
Adekunle explained that the duo unlawfully attempted to kill one Muritala Akinsoji by firing him with gun.
 
He said,  “the victim has been admitted to Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital in Osogbo and his critically ill.
 
“The duo unlawfully have in their possession one double barren gun, one single barren gun, one cutlass and one axe.
 
He explained that the offense committed by the duo contravene section 516, section 320 (I) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002 and section 4 which is punishable under section (I)(b)(II)  of the firearms Act cap F28 laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
 
The two accused persons pleaded not guilty to all counts charge pressed against them.
 
The defense counsel, Mrs. Oluwadamilare Odediran applied for the bail of her client in the most liberal and affordable terms.
 
The prosecutor Inspector Adekunle opposed the bail application made by the defense counsel.
 
While giving the reason for the oppose of the bail application moved by the defense counsel, he said, “the victim is in a critical condition at the LAUTECH hospital in Osogbo and the probability that he will survive is uncertain, Only God knows if the victim will survive or not.
 
The magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade in her ruling remanded the two accused person in Ilesha prison custody as she the adjourned the case to October 25 for mentioned.
