US President Donald Trump has warned President Hassan Rouhani never to threaten the US.

In a tweet yesterday, Trump said that the United States could shut down international oil shipments in the strategic Strait of Hormuz if Washington continued to provoke Tehran.

“We have always guaranteed the security of this strait. Do not play with the lion’s tail; you will regret it forever” Rouhani told diplomats in the Iranian capital. The Iranian president has previously threatened to close the strait in response to US President Donald Trump’s threat to stop Iranian oil exports through the waterway.

The strait is one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes and connects the oil-rich Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean.

However, President Trump wasn’t going to be threatened and he responded with a very stern warning to Iran never to threaten the United States again saying;

” To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”
