Though death is inevitable for every living being, the news of your death came to me and other associates as a shock and a rude reawakening of the transient nature of our existence.

Your death has created several holes that would be forever difficult to fill. As a friend of about fifty years (50); in those
years, you proved to me that friendship transcend mere words or appellation but a firm commitment to one
another.

You demonstrated on many occasions that no one knows and have it all. Your idea of friendship is premised on given and you gave your all while alive.

As a politician, you were known for your astuteness and strong believe in the tenets of popular democracy. Your ultimate life-goal is an ideal society where equity reigns supreme.

I recall at the outset of the IleriOluwa movement, you were among the first of
friends who accepted the movement and gave your all to ensure its survival in Irewole Local Government Area against many notable contending forces. You also stood with us throughout the campaign period and your believe in our struggle never waned in the
face of obvious threat.

Comrade Hassan, as I always call you, your life journey is a classical example of how to live a modest life and we are sure that even in death; you shall remain a good reference point for young and upcoming politicians.

As Muslims, we believe in the supremacy of Allah (SWT) as the giver and taker of life; and we pray only Him will give your family, friends and entire Alaja Compound, Oke Ada in Ikire the hearts to bear your irreplaceable exit.

As a friend and close ally, I have personally informed His Excellency, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Executive Governor, State of Osun of your exit and I have Mr Governor’s firm commitment that your immediate family would not be abandoned and shall reap the fruit of your labour as a loyal party man.

Goodnight Comrade Sarafadeen Hassan…………

Bola Oyebamiji,
Former Commissioner for Finance, State of Osun.
