Thierry Henry Expresses Warm Approval Toward Iheanacho

Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, saying that he is a very good signing for the Foxes, reports sky sports. Leicester City has been guilty of relying too heavily on Jamie Vardy at times, and that has often hurt them when their 30-year old hitman has fired a blank.

With Iheanacho on board, however, a lot of the burden could be taken off Vardy’s shoulders as the Nigerian joins him as his striking partner. Henry, Arsenal’s record goalscorer and fifth on the Premier League’s all-time chart, has now spoken about Iheanacho, and it’s safe to say that he’s impressed with what he has seen so far.
Talking to Sky Sports about the £25 million man, he said:

“It’s an amazing opportunity for him. I think back to Manuel Pellegrini’s last season at Manchester City. He wasn’t the only one but he was the spark in the team, fighting everywhere, scoring goals, trying his hardest. So I think it’s a good buy for Leicester.

“It will be interesting to see how he interacts with Jamie Vardy. Is he going to do the job of Shinji Okazaki? Is Okazaki going to keep his place? Are they going to be more adventurous? I don’t know whether Craig Shakespeare will play a 4-4-1-1 or a proper 4-4-2, but it’s a good signing.

“Whenever he had to do something at Manchester City, even when things were not great for the team, he delivered. People might say he had better players around him but let’s not forget that Leicester won the league two years ago. They have some good players too.”

When Thierry Henry says it, you generally believe it. The former Gunner is arguably the greatest striker that the Premier League has ever seen, so there’s no doubting that he knows a world-class player when he sees one.

The former Manchester City forward scored nine goals (and assisted three), having only started equally as many games last season. Goals against Manchester United, Southampton, Borussia Monchengladbach and Celtic further prove how good he is and how very good he can be.
