As Nigerians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a leading Social Political Group in Nigeria, The Progressives League has the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential candidate to stop lies- induced campaign as defeat is eminent for them in the February 2019 Presidential election.

This is coming as the group congratulates Nigerians for celebrating this year’s Christmas without the usual long queue at the fueling stations, saying the locust years are now behind us.

In a statement signed by the acting Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Wasiu Ibraheem, Nigerians have recognized that PDP and it’s Candidate built the foundation of their presidential election campaign on outright lies, fake economic data and deliberate distortion of facts “but we can never imagine that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar can lie on the grieve of the widow of a fallen heroes in the battle against insurgency.”

“It is extremely ridiculous for a presidential candidate of any political party to score a cheap political point on the grave of the heroes who swore to protect the territorial integrity of our nation. TPL hereby advises Alhaji Atiku Abubakar with the immortal word of Amilcar Cabra ” Tell no lie, score no cheap victory ” a word is enough.

“It is laughable that a Presidential would sought to feed on the bad experience and the death of our heroes on the basis of politicking. The party should therefore face its campaign and stop brandishing unverifiable claims around.”

The group cautioned the opposition party to rather shun campaign of calumny, focus on the real issues and wallow in regrets over the bastardization of the Nigerian economy while it ruled the nation.

The Progressives League however congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of Christmas as the country continues in the path to progress as the case of annual fuel crisis during festive period has become a thing of the past. We have no doubt that Nigeria will continue to the next level without hindrance.
