A six-year-old girl pupil of a prominent private school in Vasant Vihar, India, was allegedly sexually assaulted by a conductor in a bus when it was parked inside the school premises.
The incident took place on December 12.
Hindustan Times reports that the conductor, who molested the girl in the presence of other pupils has been arrested. The matter came to light when the children informed a teacher and she raised an alarm.
It remains unclear how the young students were inside the bus without a supervisor. The teacher who informed the school authorities refused to speak on the subject when Hindustan Times contacted her.
However, in her statement to the police, the teacher concerned said on the day of the incident when she entered the bus, which was set to leave the school, she was approached by a bunch of children, including the victim, who studies in Class 1.
The children reportedly told the teacher that the conductor went to the girl’s seat and touched her inappropriately besides trying to forcefully hug her.
“By the time the teacher learnt about the assault, the bus had started moving. Upon learning about the conductor’s alleged act, she made the bus stop, which was still inside the school premises. The teacher then informed the transport in charge and the caretaker of the school, who slapped the conductor in the presence of another teacher and the children,” said a police officer.
The 21-year-old accused, Mohammad Ahsan, was made to deboard the bus which proceeded to drop the children. The school authorities then informed the police and got Ahsan arrested.
A Colorado minister is facing sexual assault charges after he was arrested for allegedly impregnating a 14-year-old girl, who has already given birth to his child.
Romello Leach, 22, a minister in El Paso County, Texas was arrested on Wednesday and currently faces four counts of felony sexual assault by one in a position of trust with someone under the age of 15 and 18.
According to the arrest affidavit, Leach and the unidentified teen, whose parents knew Leach from church, had sex at least twice.
The girl’s parents reportedly found out about her pregnancy when they noticed she had “a larger belly” in May and took her to the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center. At this time, the daughter admitted that she and Leach had sexual intercourse in November 2016 and again in February or April 2017.
The nurse who gave the teen the check-up reported the pregnancy to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, who sent deputies to investigate.
After the investigation, the El Paso deputies obtained a recorded telephone conversation which revealed Leach’s ex-wife asked him, “So you didn’t sleep with that girl and get her pregnant?” In the recording, Leach replied, “It happened.”
In another recorded phone call between Leach and an unidentified person from Nov. 21, the authorities also revealed that Leach admitted to having sexual intercourse with the girl, who is now 15 years old, on at least four occasions and being the father of her child.
The affidavit says the girl gave birth to the child on the 15th of September.
A 23-year-old Arabic teacher, Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s’ Court for allegedly defiling three teenagers of the same parents in Lagos. He is facing a charge of defilement for the offence.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told court that the offence was committed from May to August, 2017 at the residence of the accused. Ogu said that the three sisters, whose ages range from seven to 12 years, were receiving Arabic and Islamic lessons from the accused.
“The parents did not know that the accused was sexually molesting their daughters until they relocated to another area and needed to change their Arabic school.
“The smallest of the girl told the mother that they don’t want another uncle to be teaching them.”
Ogu said that on hearing her daughter’s remark, the mother asked questions and was told what the previous teacher was doing to them.
“The case was reported at the police station and the accused was arrested,” the prosecutor said.
The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
