He thereby cautioned him to desist from misleading the people of the state with falsehood about the current administration in the state.

The Governor said this at a colloquium organised by a youth group in the state under the auspices of Progressive e-Group in Osogbo, the State capital where his seven years of administering the state was reviewed.

Aregbesola who frowned at the rate at which Omisore that did not do anything for the state and his Ile-Ife hometown with his position in the Senate condemns his government with passion, said he has fulfilled his campaign promises and made positive impact in the lives of people of the state.

“Omisore is not qualified to rubbish my administration. For the 8 years he spent in the state and in spite of his position as the Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation, Omisore did not do anything for our people and even the people of Ile-Ife where he hails from.

“Before Omisore could be entitled to condemn my government, he should go to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and complete the refund of the fund that he looted from national treasury ”

The Governor commended the Progressive e-Group and the entire youths in the state for their genuine interest in the development of the state and urged them to ignore the falsehood and misleading information by Omisore who is bent on rubbishing his government.

The Coordinator of the Progressives e-Group, Mr Mudasir Ayanfe in his address said the group was established 4 years ago to build synergy and fellowship among youths and those who patriotically believed in the administrative style of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

According to him, “We established the group in order to collectively showcase Aregbesola’s laudable programmes to the populace in one hand and extensively engage propagandists with facts and figures on the other hand.

“With sincerity of purpose of promoting good governance across board and continuous belief in the leadership style of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the group that started in 2014 as a local platform has become an official online media team of All Progressives Congress, State of Osun courtesy of our pragmatic Party Chairman – Prince Gboyega Famodun, a household name in the six States of south west and recently, a media extension at Presidency of Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Mudasir said members of the group are proud of Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s projects and modest achievements in office and that is why they are promoting him.

Osun 2018: Aregbesola Promises Worthy Successor, Commends Workers In New Year Message

Being the last New Year message to the people of the State of Osun, Governor Rauf Aregbesola has said that he would handover the mantle of leadership of the state to a worthy successor from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aregbesola, in his new year message to the people of the state, maintained that Osun must never be ruled by people or political party that would return the state to the inglorious state.

The governor, therefore, charged the people of the state to continue making a right choice of supporting the APC government and refused to be compromised, manipulated and intimidated by the opposition parties.

He said: “This is an election year in which our tenure will end and a successor must emerge. It is my solemn promise that we will not leave in a vacuum.

“In consultation with our leaders and the member of our great party, we will careful select and present to you a successor that belongs to our political tradition of progressive people oriented leadership, a person of integrity, who shares our aspirations and will take governance to the next level from where we stopped.

“ I want you therefore to conduct yourselves with the same dignity and courage of Omoluabi – a people whose conscience and soul cannot be bought, that cannot be intimidated with guns and dogs and who stand firm behind the progressive rock of political leadership.”

Aregbesola warned politicians from disturbing the peace of the state with any move capable of undermining the security and peaceful atmosphere of the state.

The governor said: “In the New Year, political desperado hell bent on precipitating crisis and mayhem will want to egg some misguided individuals into conducting themselves unseemly and disturb the peace and serenity of the state.

“We support the democratic expression of grievances through peaceful protests and other legitimate means. Nevertheless, all form of social agitation, be it economic, political or social, must not be done to the detriment of others.

“We have the mandate and strong intention to protect the right of others to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness and go about their lawful duties without molestation, let or hindrance.”

He commended the workers of the state for their sacrifice, understanding and the willingness to do and support what is right, and not what is convenient, in the past seven years.

“I must in particular thank all the workers in the state who have laboured with us for the successful implementation of our programmes and are therefore part and parcel of our success story, especially those who have had to endure 75 per cent and 50 per cent salary regime since July 2015”, he said.

Making his stewardship, Aregbesola said: “For the past seven years, we have laboured to bring people centred progressive governance to Osun.

“This has been visible in youth, vulnerable senior citizens and women empowerment, agriculture development, industrialisation, infrastructure development, education, job creation, human development, water resources development, urban renewal and so on.

“All these have transformed Osun and projected it positively beyond what we met. Osun has now become the reference point in prudent management of resources and responsible governance.”

Osun PDP Is ‘Clinically’ Dead – Commissioner

…There Is No Crisis In Osun PDP, Party Chieftain Insists

By Nofisat Adeoye

Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, State of Osun, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, has posited that the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is “clinically dead”.

Omowaiye said the party has no kidney, no liver and has resorted to lies and blackmail against the state government to propagate its agenda.

The Commissioner stated this on a popular radio programme monitored by OSUN DEFENDER.

“The PDP is clinically dead, it has no kidney, no liver and the party is now thinking with its anus. There is no hope for PDP in Osun and the party members know this.

“This is a party that its secretary defected from few days ago, a party that has no chairman in the state, a party that has no structure and that its National Chairman has even been dragged to court. I boldly say that PDP is gone in the state.” Omowaiye added.

“PDP is a bad product to sell and sympathise with my brother for trying so hard to sell a dead party”

However in a swift response, a chieftain of the PDP who was also on the radio programme, Mr Akin Adeyi said the party is not dead or dying and is not in any crisis.

He said there had been no official statement against the chairman of the state caretaker committee and that the secretary who defected from the party only did because his boss defected and he had no choice.

Responding to the Adeyi’s claim that the state government has only embarked on capital projects at the expense of dying workers, Omowaiye said the state had only embarked on projects which would benefit the majority of the Osun people.

He noted that Government is not all about paying salaries and that the State government had only embarked on projects which are economically viable to the state.

“We know the PDP does not value infrastructure and you are only defending your dead party. Over 80% was used for workers from the first and second tranche of Paris club Refund and we know Government is not about paying workers alone.

“Look at the roads we have built, over 70 new schools, the markets and other infrastructural developments. When there was resources in the state, the PDP could not do it anything much less when there is limited resources in the state now.

“Osun people know the truth. We thank the State workers for their understanding.”

Osun 2018: ‘It Will Be Impossible For PDP To Return’

By Kehinde Ayantunji

The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has said that with the noticeable all round development in the state, it would be highly impossible for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to come back to power in Osun.

The Governor while flagging off the distribution of over 15,000 health incentives to pregnant women in Osun held that Osun citizens having compared the wasteful reign of the PDP and the progressives’ developmental stride, will not make the mistake of voting the PDP in the coming election.

Aregbesola also commended traditional rulers in the state for their supports to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of the virtuous.

He said, over 15,000 health incentives will be given to pregnant women in a programme tagged “Saving One Million Lives Programme For Results (SOML PforR), Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Mama Kits Distribution” a federal government and World Bank assisted project.

Aregbesola who promised that the present administration would continue to pursue its health policy with all doggedness and commitment, reminded the audience that his major campaign promise was the restoration of healthy living among the people.

He added that since inception, his administration has embarked on the renovation, rehabilitation and upgrading of the nine state hospitals to ensure public accessibility to qualitative healthcare services in all parts of the state.

The Governor also recalled the Public Private Partnership (PPP) which entails the outsourcing of the pharmacy units of all State Hospitals in order to have regular availability of effective and safe drugs.

He then commended the management of the Osun Ambulance scheme for saving thousands of lives since the programme kick-started in 2013.

Aregbesola said, “With all we have done to develop the state, it is highly impossible for the PDP to ever have a say in the governance of this state. With their wasteful seven and half years, the people of the state have totally rejected them.

“Also, we have been providing and will continue to provide essential drugs and medical consumables in all our hospitals.

“O’Ambulance is another success story. The scheme was introduced in 2013 when 50 state-of-the-art ambulance vehicles were put on the road for medical emergencies, a scheme which has been used to save a lot of lives in situations of emergency in the state.

“In 2016 alone, O’Ambulance saved 1774 lives. Between January and March this year, it has also saved 630 lives”, Aregbesola stated.
