Ed Sheeran Listed Amongst UK’s Top 40 Richest Musicians

Ed Sheeran has been listed amongst the top 40 Sunday Times Rich List of UK music stars.

Not only did his third album ÷ (Divide) outsell any other in the UK and US last year, it also helped net the singer £28million – propelling him to second spot in the list of wealthiest British musicians under 30.

The 27-year-old also broke into the overall top 40 Sunday Times Rich List of UK music stars, tied at 35th on a net worth of £80million with Gary Barlow, 47.

Despite his recent success, he has some way to go to catch up with Adele, 30, as Britain’s richest young musician, who is worth an estimated £140million. Adele’s phenomenally successful third album 25 remained one of 2017’s best-selling, despite being released two years earlier.

Sir Paul McCartney, 75, remains top of the overall list of richest British musicians, making £40million last year with his wife, American trucking heiress Nancy Shevell. The couple’s total fortune now stands at £820million, making the ex-Beatle the wealthiest musician in the history of the rich list.

Ed Sheeran To Feature In Game Of Thrones

It’s been confirmed by producers of the popular Tv series Game of Thrones, that Ed Sheeran will appear in the 7th season of the series.

Ed also confirmed the news as reports started to appear online by tweeting “guess the cat’s out the bag”.

The panel at SXSW also featured stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. It was suggested that the Ed Sheeran booking was made as a surprise for Maisie because she’s a big fan of the singer. Ed’s not the first musician to appear in Game of Thrones.

Previous musical cameos have included members of Coldplay, Mastodon, Of Monsters and Men, and Sigur Ros. There’s no confirmation if he’ll be performing, like Sigur Ros and Of Monsters and Men, or if he’ll even be recognisable on screen. When Mastadon appeared in the show they were transformed into zombified members of the Wildlings group.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss also confirmed the eighth and final season of the show will only contain six episodes, making it the shortest yet.
