Beyonce Is 2017 Highest Paid Woman In Music – Forbes

Beyonce’s hit album “Lemonade” and world tour made her the highest-paid woman in music in 2017, according to an annual Forbes list on Monday.

The Pop Diva edged out Britain’s Adele and pop star Taylor Swift.

The R&B singer earned some 105 million dollars from record sales and from her “Formation” concert tour, according to Forbes.

She also has her own Ivy Park fashion line and other business interests.

Adele, whose “25” album broke first-week U.S. sales records in 2015 and who completed her first major tour since 2011, made second place with an estimated 69 million dollars, despite having no major endorsements for other products.

Swift, who topped the last year’s list with 170 million dollars in estimated earnings, raked in 44 million dollars this time despite having finished her “1989” world tour.

The singer is expected to see her earnings rise significantly in the next 12 months courtesy of her new album “Reputation” – the best-selling album of 2017 – and an upcoming tour.

Canadian superstar Celine Dion took the No.4 spot, earning some 42 million dollars after taking a break from her Las Vegas residency following the death of her husband Rene Angelil in January 2016.

Forbes compiled the list after estimating pre-tax income for the 12 months from June 2016 to 2017, based on interviews with managers, agents, lawyers and some of the stars.

It also looked at data from the Pollstar, the Recording Industry Association of America and tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan.

Beyonce Lends Her Voice To Freedom For Girls Campaign

Superstar Beyonce’s hit song ‘Freedom’ has been given a new lease of life, after being featured in a Global Goals campaign documentary demanding freedom for girls,

The film, called #FreedomForGirls, has been released to mark this year’s International Day of The Girl and spotlights some of the troubling issues confronting girls all over the world, including child marriage, access to education and trafficking.

Backed by UNICEF and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the film features new commitments to support women’s movements around the world.

“I believe that empowered girls transform societies. Their future is filled with possibility, but continued progress is not inevitable,” said Melinda Gates in a statement.

“Millions of girls still face barriers to their health, education and prosperity, just because they are female. But I’m hopeful because I’ve met so many girls who are already fighting for change in their communities. They know that an equal world is a greater world, for everyone, and this film reflects their spirit and determination.”

This year, The Day of the Girl is marked by a state of emergency

The #FreedomForGirls film follows the 2016 Global Goals film #WhatIReallyReallyWant.

“Last year’s film, which focused on women, was joyful, playful and optimistic. The global political landscape has changed dramatically in the last year — a warm celebration of female solidarity is no longer enough,” said MJ Delaney, the film’s director.

“This year’s film is defiant and demands change, with much younger girls giving a voice to a whole generation of little girls for whom it’s imperative that the Global Goals are met by 2030. Last year we marked the twentieth anniversary of Girl Power. This year we’re celebrating a new and different generation of powerful girls, using the protest anthem of the moment, Beyoncé’s Freedom – because what we need now is action.”

In 2015 world leaders agreed on The Global Goals, which included a commitment to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by 2030.
