Land Encroachment: Fountain University Seeks Govt Assistance

Authorities of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, have deplored the constant encroachment on the school’s land perpetrated by locals in its host community, and have called on the state government to intervene in the matter.

Speaking Tuesday during a meeting with state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, at the Government House, Osogbo, the school’s Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Yinka Adeola, lamented that in spite of the fact that the university has a genuine Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) for the property, some individuals still encroached on it and erected houses.

President of Nasiru-llahi Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) (which owns the university), Mr. Yomi Bolarinwa, who was also in the delegation appealed to Aregbesola to urgently intervene in the matter.

Governor Aregbesola in his response assured the university that necessary legal measures would be put in place to address the problem, urging the school authorities to be peaceful in handling the matter.
