Head Coach of Nigeria National League promotion hopeful side, Shootings Stars Sports Club, Edith Olumide Agoye, has admitted that he is still ‘haunted’ by the Oluyole Warriors promotion failure in 2018 and 2019 and is glad the team has put the issue to bed while hoping to get the promotion ticket soon.

Eshin, as he is fondly called by his admirers, took the ‘Oluyole Warriors’ to two unsuccessful promotion bid in Aba and Asaba respectively and told *FUBF,* a popular Sports Whatsapp Group in Nigeria that the memories of the failed promotion bid is still fresh in his mind.

“Its painful when you work so hard all through the season, but get nothing in return,” he told *FUBF.*

“It was difficult and till now, I still find it so hard to accept reality that it indeed happened to the team twice under me.

“At the 2018 promotion play-off in Aba, we started well, but somehow lost out, then in 2019 it was difficult to explain. But I have to mention that the ‘near’ success we had in those two seasons has reinforced the team’s believe, we have grown in character and all area of the game, it has become a blessing in disguise.”

The former FC Braunau of Austria forward also said he is optimistic that the Oluyole Warriors will secure promotion to Nigerian top-flight this season despite the Covid-19 effects.

“Its more important that the organizers of the Nigeria National League find every available opportunity to make sure the league is completed because of their integrity.

“If at the end of the day, the league fails to continue from where it stopped, then Shooting Stars and other teams leading the NNL tables should be promoted,” he concluded.
