Sexagenarian Docked For Alleged Fraud

A 65 year-old man Prince Gbenga Arojojoye has been arraigned before an Osogbo magistrate court over alleged fraud.

According to the charge sheet, the accused is facing two count charges bothering on fraud and stealing.

The charge sheet disclosed that the accused fraudulently obtain the sum of N600,000 from one Adeniji Taofeeq Osungbohun under pretence to buy him land located at Owode Ilesha road, Osogbo, an offence contrary to and punishable under section 419 of the criminal code cap34  VOLII.law of Osun state of Nigeria 2003 and section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 VOL.II law Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

The charge sheet read in court revealed that the accused committed the offence sometimes in January 2017 at Osogbo.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.

The defence counsel Mr Okobe Najite prayed the court to grant the suspect bail in the most liberal and affordable term.

Presiding Magistrate Fatimoh Sodamade granted the accused bail in the sum of N500.000 with one surety, adding the surety must swear to affidavit of means and present three years tax clearance certificate.

The case was adjourned to November 8, 2018 for hearing.
