Yet again, there is division in the house of the All Progressive Congress over decision of the party to punish Senator Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara for conniving with the leaders of the opposition party and for also refusing to honour the decree of the party which unequivocally instructed the both leaders to accept the nominations of the party for the remaining principal positions.
Information reaching our correspondent suggests that the party leadership is currently debating and deliberating on whether or not to punish the two erring leaders. This has caused another division among its leaders and also within the party’s National Working Committee.
The party leadership has been admonished to exercise caution on a matter as sensitive as this.
Another reason why the leadership of the party is reportedly angry is that the deputy senate president is from the opposition party which seems to pose a threat to the effectiveness of the change agenda the party advocated during its campaign.
