They lamented that the portions of the road that are bad constitute major hazard to the safety of travelers.

“Flowers have Bushes and overtaken the road, there are potholes filled with puddles on every section of the road and vehicles with bad shock absorbers are the ones feeling the impact of the bad roads the more”.

Meanwhile, further investigations revealed that in the western part of the state, majority of the roads are in one state of disrepair or the other.

It was observed that the Iwo-Ibadan road via Ileogbo was in a dilapidated state.

Motorists plying the road were complaining bitterly that they had to spend more on the maintenance of their vehicle and due to the bad road; most of their vehicles have to undergo constant repair so as to be in good shape.

They called on government and the Federal Ministry of Works to come up with a solution to the problem before the road becomes more dilapidated.

From investigations, some portions of the road during the rainy season are virtually inaccessible to motorists.

Commercial transporters who ply the road revealed that the Awo road is longer, that is why they prefer to use the Ileogbo axis because it is a straight route and it takes less transport time but for the bad situation of the road.
