The Chairman Senate Committee on Rules and Business and Senator Representing Osun East Senatorial District, Babajide Omoworare, has urged Nigerians to keep praying for President Muhammadu Buhari in his move to re-position Nigeria.
He also urged the citizens of the country to engage themselves more in selfless and humanitarian services that would aid the development of Nigeria.
In an Easter message signed by his Media Assistant, Tunde Dairo, on Saturday, Omoworare also charged Nigerians to show the spirit of love and sacrifice.
He urged Nigerians to retain their faith in God and dedicate themselves to godliness, just as he enjoined them to always pray for the country and work for her development.
He said: “At this special time of our nation, we must give our best support and prayer to the constituted authority as represented by the President Muhamadu Buhari-led All Progressive Congress (APC) Federal Government to attain the Nigeria of our collective dream.
“As political leaders, we also have a duty to the Republic and the electorates which is ultimately a responsibility to God.”
Maintaining that the present challenges facing Nigeria was for a purpose, Omoworare stated that Nigerians must learn to project into the future and prevent any possible devastation that could result from the economic downturn as being experienced now.
He added, “Collectively, as a nation, we can overcome the challenges of unemployment, insecurity, poverty and other indices antithetical to optimum human living.
“Corruption, violence and other vices must become a thing of the past, we must institute constitutional framework that will make fraudulent practices almost impossible without a penalty. When this is done we will have enormous wealth to maximise our human development indices.”
