Police Arraign 3 Suspected Land Grabbers For Alleged Assault

Three suspected land grabbers have been
​dragged before a magistrate’s court, sitting
​in Osogbo, the capital of the State of Osun.

The suspects, Akinlolu Olumide(24), Ariyibi Fatai and OlabisiAfolabi (20) were alleged of conspiring to assault one AdemolaSaheed by slapping and hitting him with stone, through which he sustained injury on his face.

According to the charge sheet made available to OSUN DEFENDER on Wednesday, the accused persons committed the offence on April 30, 2020 at about 4:00pm at Okinni area in the Egbedore axis of the State of Osun.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun said alleged offences were contrary to and punishable under Sections 516, 355 and 249 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol II Laws of Osun, 2002.

But the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the accused persons went to the land of the complainant to demand for money, which led to the attack on him.

Defense counsel, Mr Adeoye Oluwole prayed the court to release the suspects on bail on a liberal term, promising that they would not jump bail if granted.

The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Oloyade admitted the suspects to bail in the sum of N50,000 with a surety each.

Oloyade adjourned the case till May 21, 2020 for hearing.
