In nipping the incessant cases of kidnapping and other security challenges along the Ibadan Ijebu Ode road in the bud, the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Monday, announced the setting up of a Special Joint Security Post, at Mamu village, a border between Ibadan and Ijebu Ode in Ogun state.

The post will have officers of the Nigerian Police and that of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Governor Makinde said the Mamu Joint Security Post was set up to secure the entry and exit points in the state, adding that the Mamu post was a pilot project that would soon be replicated in all the other borders.

The Security post is furnished with CCTV cameras that are being monitored from the Security Control Room in Ibadan.

Nine patrol pickup vans were also handed over to the security agencies; five pickup vans to Ngozi Onadeko, Oyo State Police Commissioner while four pickup vans were handed over to Iskilu Akinsanya, Oyo State Commandant of NSCDC, both of whom took part in the inspection tour of the post with the Governor.
