Osun Govt Pays June Salary, Explains Reason for Delay Payment

The salary and pension for the workers and pensioners in the service of the state Government of Osun for the month of June has been paid.

The salary and pension were paid on Tuesday by the government. It is expected that the bank process should have been completed and workers will be receiving alert of their salary any moment from now.

It is pertinent to state that the state government is not responsible for the delay in the payment of June salary. It is as a result of series of deadlock meeting of the Federal Account Allocation Committee because of the discrepancies in the figures presented by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to FAAC.

FAAC just disbursed allocation to the Federating units few days ago and the State Government of Osun has immediately paid the workers salary.

We thank the workers for the usual understanding in the delay in salary payment.

It is necessary to state categorically that the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola has always given priority to the prompt payment of salaries to its workers.

The state Government of Osun holds workers in high esteem and always appreciates their efforts and contributions to the development of the state.

The workers should expect the alert of their salary any moment from now, just as we reiterate that the delay in the payment of salary is not the fault of the state government as being insinuated in some quarters.

Signed
