In line with the quest of Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led administration to resurrect the rail line in the state, the state government has entered into partnership with the company in charge of the China’s Railway.
The governor stated this while speaking at the Pre-independence Celebration ceremony of the Republic of China organised by the Chinese Embassy at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said that the rail-line would be constructed from Dagbolu, near Osogbo to Lagos, to move farm produce from the state to Lagos and move finished and imported goods to Osogbo for residents of the state to get it at Lagos price.
Calling on the Chinese businessmen to come and invest in the state, the governor stated that the state, which he described as peaceful and resourceful, is in dare need of investors, with a view to bringing development to the state.
The governor also promised to make land available to any investor who wants to invest in the state, so as to make the state interesting for them to stay.
It would be recalled that the governor has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with some Korean investors, to invest $400million (about N60billion) in agriculture, under the Green Wealth Agriculture Project (GWAP).
The state government, under this project, is expected to commit a 10 per cent (N6 billion) of the overall capital, aimed at developing agriculture in the state.
Also, the China-Africa Development Fund (The CADFund) has assured the governor that within the shortest time, the state would witness heavier presence of Chinese investors, with a view to enhancing the development potentials of the state.
