Osun Assembly To Provide More Support For Sports Development In Osun – Ogunkanmi

The Deputy Chief Whip, State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Ogunkanmi has paid a courtesy visit to Lanreleke Sports Academy, Ile Ogbo, the headquarters of Ayedire local government in Osun.

 

Speaking, Hon. Ogunkanmi commended the Proprietor, Engr. Olanrewaju Adeleke for his gesture to develop Ayedire local government and Osun at large through the sports facility.

 

The lawmaker representing Ayedire state constituency, said the sports academy will give opportunity to talented children of the state and Nigerians at large, to showcase their talent.

 

According to him, “The academy will increase students confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem as it teaches various skills to students like leadership, patience, team efforts, and social skills.

 

“Sports Academy is a proper channel to talent developmental system designed to help children become the best athlete they can be in their chosen sport”, the lawmaker stated.

 

Hon.Gbenga Ogunkanmi told the students that, “This prime opportunity as presented by LanreLeke Sports academy to Children Sporting life will go a long way to cement her reputation as the number one Academy for Sports development Locally.

 

“You can continue playing the sports you love, develop yourselves as athletes and at the same time enjoy the academics standard of LSA by excelling in your studies by signing-up for the Sports Academy programmes.”

 

He however urged the students to make maximum use of the facilities of the academy and be successful at different levels, including state, National and international.

 

 

On his part,the principal of the school,Mr Chike Egunnu commended the lawmaker for the visit and his words of appreciation and encouragement and he promised to live up to the expectations of making the academy the best in Africa.

 

 

He said the academy trains students on various sports, such as Basketball, Football, among others.

 

Egunnu added that the academy is also training students in various disciplines in the secondary school curriculum such as Art, Cormmecial and Science classes from SS1 to SS3.

 

He disclosed that the current students are from Enugu, Delta, Imo, Kogi, Anambra, Lagos and other states in the country.

 

“it is our pride that we are not sentimental on tribe, religion and others. We are building students to make it in various fields, such as Entertainment, Tourism, Fashion and others, so as to secure the future of the country through the academy,” the principal, Lanreleke Sports Academy, Ile-Ogbo stated.
