The Speaker, Osun state House of Assembly, Honourable Najeem Salaam, has assured people of the state on the delivery of qualitative laws that would enhance performances of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Salam promised a good relationship between the parliament and the executive arms of government with a view to making life better for the people of the state.
Addressing, officials of New Ham County , East London who paid a courtesy visit on him in United Kingdom, the Speaker said the only way communities in developing nations could enjoy dividends of democracy is for the executive to shun trivial issues for collective good.
The Speaker, in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Goke Butika from London, stressed that lack of maintenance culture was the bane of some Africa states’ under-development.
He noted that Osun State House of Assembly would soon cause a bill that would promote maintenance culture, saying that would go a long way to sustain any project inaugurated by any administration in the state.
The leadership of the state House of Assembly then informed the New Ham Council officials that Osun State under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola has taken a step in fighting the scourge of poverty through provision of 20,000 jobs for volunteers.
Impressing it on his guests that the primary objective of creating the job was to engage jobless youths, who had for long been denied an opportunity of decent living, Salaam stressed that the trickle-down effect of the programme has boiled down to crime prevention and local economic lubrication.
The Speaker then assured the people of Osun State that enough exposure has been acquired by the state lawmakers outside the country to drive their lawmaking business in the interest of the larger interest of the state.
