Osun Assembly Speaker Charges Residents To Support APC

The Speaker, State of Osun House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam has charged the people of the state to always support the APC-led administration to deliver dividends of democracy.

Dr. Salaam stated this while addressing the House at the plenary where he remarked on the need for interest of the state to supersede all other interests.

He gave kudos to Osun people for voting peacefully and maintaining peace the state of Osun is known for during the last governorship election.

According to him, “The whole House rejoice with the Governor-elect, Mr Gboyega Oyetola on his victory during the just concluded governorship election in the state, we wish him best tenure in office. God knows the best for all and we should all take it like that”.

However, in further consideration of the Health Insurance Scheme bill 2018, the House entertained debate of the first plenary after the recess that enabled the lawmakers attend to electioneering activities.

The House engaged in thorough deliberation on the bill after which third reading was deferred till the next sitting of the legislature.

This is as a result of the submission of the chairman House Committee on Health Hon. Leke Ogunsola in which he informed the lawmakers that necessary works have been carried out as directed by the House, adding that the bill is ready for further consideration and passage.

Meanwhile, the speaker appreciated his colleagues and the entire people of the state as he acknowledged the contribution of everybody to the development of the state.

He also lauded the opposition as well as those who worked on other platforms during the election to maintain during and after the poll.

Dr. Salaam who notified the House on the letter from the Governor requesting for consideration of the State of Osun social protection bill 2018, maintained that political difference would not divide the house as he assured that the legislators would remain one and indivisible in the interest of the state
