The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today held an interdenominational prayer to usher in year 2022.
Members of the APC stormed the Oranmiyan House, Aregbe Junction, Gbongan/Ibadan road, Osogbo to partake in the prayer which was led by the Chairman of the party, Hon Rasaq Salinsile.
Salinsile, in his prayer, gave thanks to God for sustaining the party and members throughout last year.
He admonished the APC faithful to continue to pray for the success of the party, especially during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The Christian prayer was led by Pastor Olaniyi Ajani, who enjoined members of the party to have faith in God, declaring that the path they have chosen will definitely lead to victory.
Ajani prayed for the success of the party and protection against evil at all times, just as he committed members of the party into God hands.
The Muslim prayer was led by Alfa Hussein Oyetunji with Quran verses to praise Allah for his protection on members of the party throughout last year.
During his sermon, Oyetunji admonished members of the party to presevere during the present struggle to rescue the party from destruction, assuring them that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Prayers were offered for the progress of the party and its leadership, especially the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yussuff, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam and former Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Moshood Adeoti.
Party leaders at the event included Chairman of The Osun Progressives (TOP), Reverend Lowo Adebiyi, Secretary of the party in the State, Hon. Adelani Baderinwa who led other APC state exco members, among others.
