Osun Accountant General Speaks, Says “I Did Not Resign”

The former Accountant General of the State of Osun, Mr Akintayo Alaba Kolawole has finally reacted to the rumours making the rounds that he resigned from the services of the state government.

In a video message on Sunday in Osogbo, Mr Kolawole said he retired at the mandatory age of 60 years on August 11, 2018 after 31 years in service.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Rauf Aregbesola for giving him the opportunity to reach the peak of his career.

Mr Kolawole also stressed that although, the times were hard for the state during his tenure financially, appreciable success and proper financial management skills were introduced to keep government running.

“I Akintayo Alaba Kolawole voluntarily retired from the service of the Osun State Government. I retired on August 11, 2018 after clocking the age of 60. I spent 31 years. I thank Mr Governor, the Exective Council, the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries and most especially staff of the Office of Accountant-General that worked with me during my stay in office.”

Mr Kolawole graduated from University of Maiduguri in 1986 with an honours degree and became a chartered accountant in 1995.

He has since handed over to Mr Moses Sunday Igbaroola, the most senior director in the Office of Accountant-General of the State.
