Members of the popular socio-political organization, Oranmiyan worldwide have donated gift Items to an orphanage and motherless home in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun.

The visit by members of Oranmiyan group to the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Osogbo was in honour of the former Governor of Osun State and the current Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the founder of the group, who turned 63 on Monday.

The group, as a way of celebrating his birthday and his laudable developmental achievements when he was the governor of the state, decided to give back to the society.

The children at the orphanage, who sang songs of joy, received bags of rice, beans, garri, soft drinks, table water, cloths and other gift items.

Oranmiyan had earlier organised a special prayer which was held at the Headquarters of the group in accordance with the social distancing directives for their principal before they later proceeded to FOMWAN for gift items donation.

Speaking, the Director General of the group, Hon Sadiq Olajide Moruf said that their visitation and donation of food items was part of the activities lined up for the celebration of the Aregbesola 63 birthday.

Describing the food donation to orphanage home as significant and remarkable, Moruf said a time like this on such occasion, there was the need to remember those who do not have.

He further said: As our principal being a man who care for the well being of his people, an humanist who always put smile of the faces of the people that’s why we borrow part of his ideologies.

“We are trying to imitate him, to mimic him because we have learned so much from him and we are giving back to those who really need it that is why we are here today. This is not the first time last year we are here when I celebrated my 50th birthday. And we have pledged that we would be coming here regularly to synergise with them and to identify with them because they are part of the society. We are here as part of our civic responsibility.

“Ogbeni is quintessential leader and complete leader. He is the leader of the leaders. He is highly distribalised person. He cares so much about the people around him. He thinks ahead. He is a true leader.

“He has a background of being an activist and he is more or less a humanist than a Politician. He is not a traditional Politician we used to know in the past. He is a born and natural leader. Someone who was created significant to lead, Ogbeni is quintessential leader.

Appreciating the gusture, FOMWAN Amira, Alhaja Kudirat Oladunmoye described the gesture a laudable, saying the group has attested to the fact ppl that they have really leaned from the Aregbesola’s philanthropic nature .
