The deputy chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin at the weekend said the Alliance for Democracy (AD) has been buried with the former governor of the state, late Chief Adebayo Adefarati.

Adetimehin said the AD’s life span ended the day the former governor was committed to the mother earth.

Adefarati, who was a former governor under the platform of AD, ruled Ondo State between 1999 and 2003.

He also emerged the party’s Presidential candidate during the 2007 general elections but died few weeks to the election.

But, Adetimehin, who spoke with reporters in Akure, the state capital noted that going back to the days of AD is like returning to Egypt.

Adetimehin who is also the chairman of Akeredolu Campaign Platform (ACP) stressed that those who are marketing the AD must first wake up the late governor.

He said the flag and symbol of the party had been buried with the late governor.

The APC chieftain who served as one of the aides of the late governor and also the chairman of his burial committee said since there was no one, who can wake up the dead, it will be difficult for any politician in the state to revive AD.

“We have two governments, the progressives and conservative and we can’t have two progressives in Ondo State. APC is the only progressives party in Ondo State.

“Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, Baba Bisi Akande, Rauf Aregbesola and others are progressives and they are members of the APC and they will never support anyone who is not progressive-minded.

“AD is just an assembly of desperate politicians, who are hiding under the platform of progressives to achieve their selfish agendas.

“These set of people have been jumping from one political party to another. I have been in the progressive for 13 years, ask them where were they in the last 13 years?

“Nobody can wake the dead. Jesus Christ of Nazareth was the only dead who arose on the third day, nobody can raise the dead again

“We have left Egypt and anyone who wants to revive AD must wake up our late seige, Chief Adebayo Adefarati because the flag and symbols of AD were buried with him”
