Akwa United striker Okechukwu Gabriel believes  the Promise Keepers will move to the next stages of the CAF Confederation Cup competition at the expense of Sudanese side, Al Hilal.

Abdul Maikaba’s side travel to Sudan to challenge a tricky Al Hilal in the first leg of their play-offs tie away on Sunday.

“There are no small teams any more but I believe we (Akwa United) will get a good result to go through to the next round,” Gabriel told CSN.

“They are a tough side who are unbeaten in their last five games and they are also third in their league table so it will be tough, no doubt.”

Gabriel also shared his experience with the Super Eagles team during the international break but rued his lack of action as the team faced Poland and Serbia in friendlies.

“The games were good tests for the team and I hope to get another chance because the competition was fierce,” the Home Eagles star at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco in January added.

“It was a great experience for me and I learnt few things from my teammates and the manager but sadly I was unable to show them in match situations.”
