Odo Otin South LCDA Embarks On Grading Of Roads

A new wind of change and development is blowing in Odo-Otin South Local Council Development Area, Inisa  as the first woman Chairman of the council, Mrs. Bibitayo Folasade Ajala kick-started her administration with massive road rehabilitation, reconstruction of line drainage, retaining walls and collapse culverts’ boxes among others.

According to a statement by the council’s Information Officer, Olumide Felix, other projects are, renovation of public service utilities with area evacuation and digging out of refuse from some blocked culverts and drainages.

The statement said that the road grading and rehabilitation were embarked upon across the existing six wards of the council, such as lyeku, Elesin funfun, Olore palace and Ologungun to Olola, Agbeye to ring road. Also graded are, Ojubo to station, Selina road-Wednesday market road, while in ward 11and 12, we have police road, Egbebi, Gboiki, Alarin-Ekusa and celestial church road.

In Ward13, the roads graded are, Ekonde, Ode, Machor, Agbeye Junction,  Towoju, opened along Agbeye road.

“Aside the grading, most of the roads retaining wall and water ways were reconstructed, while blocked drainage were cleared to prevent flooding during the raining season.

Similarly, as a measure to assist rural farmers, the new administration in Odo-Otin South repaired tractor to boost mechanised farming activities in the area and use same to generate revenue for the council. Also, the old revenue office along Inisa road was renovated and put in use.

As well, the NULGE Bus was repaired for the entire staff, while all the abandoned cars inherited from the main council was repaired and distributed to all HOD and the leader of the house.

According to the statement, the achievement recorded so far by the present administration will go a long way to ameliorate the problem of bad roads for the community, prevent flood and erosion in the community.
