Governor Gboyega Oyetola has described his administration as very transparent with funds, and does not toy with the welfare of workers and retirees.

The Governor emphasized this while distributing retirement bond certificates under the Contributory Pension Scheme to its beneficiaries.

He wondered why those who are supposed to know glory in bandying lies about the Paris Club Refund which the Federal Government does not give in isolation to any state.

Mr Oyetola disclosed that his administration released over a billion naira to 105 local government staff and 84 primary school teachers as beneficiaries.

According to the Governor, #474,753,14 goes to the local government staff while #538,696,783 goes to the primary teachers beneficiaries.

The Governor regretted that the economic meltdown is seriously hampering the presentation of the certificates at once. He however made it known that the rest will receive theirs very soon. He appealled for calm and patience on the part of those who are yet to benefit.

The Permanent Secretary,Bureau of Local Government Staff Pension Mr Kayode Afolabi noted that since the commencement of the contributory pension scheme,there have been tremendous achievements such as regular remittances into employees retirement savings account,funding of the redemption fund and settlement of death benefits of deceased contributors.

Mr Kayode Afolabi appreciated Governor Oyetola for his support for the scheme even in the face of dearth of funds. He extended gratitude to the stakeholders in project particularly the Pension Fund Administrators.

The Head of Service,Dr Olowogboyega Oyebade urged retirees not to despair or lose hope as the current administration is committed to paying all their entitlements.1

89 retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme benefitted from from the#1.13 billion naira bond certificate.
