Workers  of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Abeokuta,  have alleged that   Ogun State   Governor  Ibikunle Amosun is planning to sack  some of them.

In a  statement signed by the branch Chairmen of  the Non-Academic Staff Union,  Kola Sopade; Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Babatunde Osifalujo; and Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics, Kola Olawunmi, the workers   said  they  had been informed that  the governor  was also planning to disband the three unions  and sack the executive officers.

The workers  have been at the  loggerheads with the state government over the conversion of MAPOLY to Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology,  and  the establishment of Ogun State Polytechnic in Ipokia Local Government  Area of the state.

They said the  conversion  of the polytechnic to a university without  funding,   and non-payment of outstanding salaries and allowances as well as  non-payment of N170m  pension deductions caused problems between them and the state government.

But the  Special Adviser to Amosun on Media  Rotimi Durojaiye, said the allegations were  not true.
