A 46-year-old man, Fola Funsho has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly defrauding Mr. Akinola Adekunle with the pretence of paying him for the goods sold to him.
Fola Funsho was docked on two count charges bothering on fraud and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun told the court that the accused person fraudulently obtained 10.28kg of Cashew Nuts valued N5,399,000 from one Akinola Adekunle John with a pretence of paying him for the goods.
He explained that the defendant committed the offence on March 16, 2016.
He added that the offence committed is punishable under section 419 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges alleged against him.
The defence counsel, Barrister Amaechi Ngwu humbly applied for the bail of the accused person in most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, O.A Ayilara granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5, 000,000 with two sureties.
One of the sureties must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and must be a civil servant with the state of Osun of not less than Grade Level 12, while the other must be a landed property owner who is ready to deposit his document with the court.
The case was adjourned to October 3, 2018 for settlement.
