Man Bags Seven Years Jail Term Over Unlawful Possession Of Human Head

An High Court in the State of Osun  presided over by Justice Kudirat Akano has sentenced one Moshood Babatunde  to seven years imprisonment over unlawful possession of human parts.
The convict was arraigned on Four counts charge of conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of human head and other human parts contrary to Sections 516, 242(1)(b) 329A(1) and 242 (b) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap.34, Volume. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
In the course of the trial, the Prosecution team from the Ministry of Justice led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Dr. Ajibola Basiru who appeared along with the Principal State Counsel, Matthew Adedokun, called three witnesses and tendered nine exhibits before the Court.
In his judgement, Justice Kudirat Akano stated that the prosecution counsel has proven the case beyond reasonable doubt and hereby convicted and sentenced the accused to seven years imprisonment on charge one of unlawful possession of human head.
Two years imprisonment for improper and indecent interference with and indignity to the corpse on count two and two years for intent to sell or use the human part for charms on count three.
She added that the sentences are to run concurrently.
