Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun who is the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism told the public that Governor Seyi Makinde has no inordinate ambition to lead the South West caucus of the People’s Democractic Party (PDP) rather to work with other stakeholders towards a regional development.

Olatunbosun explained that the main focus of Governor Makinde is to unify the party leadership in all States of the region so as to position the party ahead of others in the country in the area of socio-economic growth and agro-economic development.

Olatubosun made the statement while featuring alongside the former Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu on Saturday in a radio interview programme on Agidigbo FM in Ibadan.

The Commissioner also granted interview with journalists after the radio programme where he spoke on other National issues

He stated that those creating misconceptions of disunity between the Governor and former Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose have no understanding of the true nature of Governor Seyi Makinde, whom he described as peace loving.

Hon. Olatunbosun said, “Governor is all out for peace within our party and the South West region, he has been working for unity and to use the unity among the leaders and members of the party in the region to create a hub of development and commercial growth, which other parts of the country will want to emulate.

He said, “it is normal to see and hear some of these misconceptions about leadership tussle as a Party, but I tell you that it is going to fizzle out soon, what really matters is how to unite the leaders for the states to forge a common front for development and progress of the people.”

The Commissioner said efforts were ongoing to reconcile all warring parties in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as the national leaders of the party, like the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and others were working round the clock to find permanent solution to the crises rocking the South West PDP.
