ACTION Congress (AC) in Ilesa West Local Government Council Area of Osun State has blazed the trail again in victory prayers, as the party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state are set any moment from now to be horn-locked in a fresh legal tango over claims to the governorship seat in the state.
The AC in the council area was the first to organize a prayer forum for the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Engineer Rauf Aregbesola, after the Appeal Court in Ibadan, Oyo State capital ordered a retrial of the petition against the election and return of the PDP’s Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the incumbent governor of the state.
The party faithful, men and women, young and old, all believers in the sanctity of democracy and law had gathered last Monday, full of life and were exceptionally happy as they sang Islamic and Christian songs of praise and worship, thanking God Almighty for the way the appeal court’s judgment went.
Both the Holy Bible and Holy Quran, whose contents cannot be argued-against on the parameter of logic or mathematics, were lavishly quoted, as the clerics told the prayer gathering that the decision by the appeal panel was “God’s project still in progress.”
Presiding Pastor and Alfa captured the mood of Christians and Muslims at the prayer venue when the men of God declared that God has indeed answered the prayers of the masses of the state.
Looking happy and radiating life, those at the prayer parley responsively raised their voices up and prayed every prayer-point like tender claps.
The prayer forum coordinator, Honourable Azeez Isa Adesiji a.k.a Abundance For All, who is the party’s chairmanship candidate for the council area, was in an expansive mood.
He beamed repeatedly even before the prayers began, ostensibly to infect others at the prayer to hope for victory, and not be discouraged.
Adesiji enjoined his party faithful to believe that “God has done it for us,” stressing that “the seeming endless trouble you are seeing today is God’s trouble and it will be over, with the masses of the state as beneficiaries.”
The prayer continuum was attended by the AC ward chairmen in the council area including Peter Adebayo Olowookere Ade, Taofeek Salam.
Also present were Oladire Funke, Olajuke Ayode, Fatima Azeez and Modinat Badmus and several others.
Pastor Peter Adebayo and Alfas Hussein Tijani and Ibraheem Oladimeji led the prayers for Aregbesola.
